We decided to explore the forest near St Catherine for
mushrooms. Unfortunately we didn’t find any. I think the ground is too dry. To
be honest it has been rather dry during Autumn for the last two years.
Mushrooms and chestnuts were hard to come by. Last year I did find a few
chestnuts, but that was it. I remember one year, years ago we had a 5 lb (10
kg) bag of chestnuts. That was a good year!
The only thing worth mentioning was this leaf with eggs attached to it. Interesting and bizarre.
