Christmas shop at Jardinerie Grassot

It’s funny that after November 1^st and 2^nd many “Christmas shops” open and are established in some of the bigger garden and home stores. I decided to check out a new “Christmas shop” at Jardinerie Grassot in Brignais. It opened officially on November 3^rd and will remain open until December 24^th. I was impressed by the scale of the shop and variety of items on sale. It reminds me of the Christmas shops in small villages outside of Colmar. On the 11^th I will check out Gamm Vert as that store has always been my favorite. Their Christmas shop is more compact and seems smaller, but I could be wrong about this. So officially, people in this area of France start to get ready for the Christmas season. I used to think the US started w-a-y too early when it came to Christmas decor, music, buying presents, etc., and I still think that.  Now some countries (Ireland and the UK come to mind) in Europe have been pushing Christmas earlier, even a “black Friday” day. I hope the trend stops at November and doesn’t go any earlier.

Gamm Vert Christmas 2015

Gamm Vert is one of my favourite stores. Every November we come to Gamm Vert to see their Christmas display and section. We usually buy Christmas decorations, but not this time. This year I only decided to buy battery operated lights for an outside decoration I bought a month ago. There were so many lovely ornaments, garland and lots of different wreaths that I decided “maybe” I’ll consider buying another time. 

Gamm Vert is also the store we buy ALL of my “pet” products, mainly stuff for my birds. This store is located in Saint Chamond and it is one of their bigger stores.

Christmas at Gamm Vert

Gamm Vert is a store that has everything from plants, planting and gardening supplies, pet store, kitchen supplies, food and clothing. This is by far my favourite store! November 8^th was the opening of their Christmas store. It was very pretty and I bought a few things. Unfortunately I didn’t have my regular camera so I used Norbert’s cell phone to take photos.
